mikailborg: I can't even remember what event I was attending, but I must have been taking it seriously. (orbiting)

Eight hours of sleep...

... didn't help a bit last night. I woke up this morning with a thickly fogged, achy head, which only a lot of liquid did anything for. I also had a bad dream last night that I threw panels for Technicon and nobody came :( Or maybe they just sucked, I can't remember the dream that well.

Starr has jumped right back into her work. Her co-workers attempts to take it easy on her first day back failed miserably - such is the nursing profession, I guess. We had a nice couple of hours last night before she succumbed to the lure of sleep.

I found a nice sentence on a link from Tobold's blog about certain types of gamers, WoW hardcore raiders especially, that relates to my 'poker deck' post: "For some people it isn't enough to have achieved something first, they must also make sure that nobody else gets there, or it tarnishes their leet shine."

That attitude was in full effect in a community I was reading the other day. Somebody basically canceled their account because now that they've done all the good dungeons and got the good gear, casual gamers can get good stuff too.

*rolls eyes* You still got their first dude. Also, casual gamers don't care. So you're still on your little hill, king at last.

Yeah, we were picking on a guy in the office who leveled to 60 under the new rules: "Backinmyday, we fought elite quest mobs! Took us twice the XP to level. Uphill both ways!"

But really, it's teasing. It'd be no skin off my nose if next month you could suddenly create a brand new 60 in Hellfire Peninsula greens whenever you wanted.

Aye. Why, I remember the day...

But yeah. Done it, hit 70, but barely raided. Started a new char for fun, so what's it matter if others level faster. Means my alts rise faster, too.

But it's fun to be crotchety, too.

Isn't that going to be called a Death Knight?? :)

Well, I rather doubt that Death Knights are showing up next month :) But hey, if it means I can skip Stranglethorn Vale, I'm all for it!

(Actually, I need to check out the new Dustwallow as soon as I have an alt at the right level. That may be some time from now...)

When my BE mage hit Dustwallow I didn't even know that there was new content: I was just going for the Tabitha quests. Then I happened upon this goblin settlement in the middle of nowhere and was completely surprised! It's actually kind of nice that the game can still do that to you after so long. :)

Perhaps that's just a premonition for all of Technicon? Some days, I wonder. I just want the weekend to be done.

Heh. I'm set for day gaming and such, but I'm still kind of interested to see how the night goes. I'm also really amused about the one hour dance...

It's a matter of not having more time in the building. Joys of the facility.

Oh, I realize that. It's just that I question the point of a one-hour dance so early in the night when setup and tear down are likely to actually be longer than the dance itself. At least the masquerade isn't beforehand, since an hour late is not unusual for its end time! :)

BTW, it looks like if I make it to T-Con it'll be between about 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday. Not much compared to an entire weekend, but I suppose six hours is nothing to sneeze at. (And it's about the same amount of time I had last year. I just need to remember not to let [livejournal.com profile] jlfranklin kidnap me this time. If [livejournal.com profile] kittykatya, [livejournal.com profile] tzel, [livejournal.com profile] starborn_scribe, or [livejournal.com profile] clar1ssa want to kidnap me, though, that's a different story. :D )
